Spring On Avery's Creek

Painting the spring landscape near Asheville, my friend Richard Oversmith and I found this flower lined creek and couldn't pass it up!

Here is a shot of the scene

And here is my version

"Spring On Avery's Creek" oil on panel 14" x 11"
SOLD

Time of day and lighting are so critical when out looking for subjects in the landscape. By the time Richard and I finished up, the sun had shifted to its zenith, rendering this lovely scene flat as a pancake!

A FINE DAY FOR PAINTING!

Finally, the rain has moved on and what a day for painting! Today, along with some fellow members of the Western North Carolina Plein Air Painters, we set up easels, primed our brushes and had a grand old time!
