Not far from my studio is the French Broad River, and this is a view as it slowly making its' way towards Marshall, NC.  This painting was done in the early morning, and there was a softness to the light and slight fog, which really gave it a nice atmospheric perspective.

Opening Night at 16 Patton

This painting, which is more or less a composition in white, was great fun to paint.  The shimmering pearl onions are shown with a bouquet of "Cherokee Roses" from my garden. This painting will also be featured in my upcoming one-man show July 17th at 16 Patton Fine Art Gallery in Asheville, NC.

I've been enjoying taking some favorite props and developing a few still life paintings recently.  The beautiful porcelin cup and saucer provided just the right amount of complimentary colors to make this composition in blue work.

Winter has certainly given landscape painters a lot of subject matter this year. Here is a little painting of the creek feeding Beaver Lake. What really caught my eye in this was the richness of the reflections and the contrasts with the surrounding snow. Lots of fun!

Opening Night at the Crescent
